Fishing

Fishing in Malaysia is a growing sport. The Straits of Malacca on the west coast of the peninsular and the group of islands around Port Klang offer a number of exciting and beautiful fishing spots. Fishing trips can last from half a day to several days depending on your preference and are suitable for experienced anglers and novices alike. Fishing techniques can include trolling, chunking then trolling. You can explore the mangrove inlets around Pulah Ketam, Pulah Indah and other local islands or travel offshore to one Fathom Bank for true sea fishing.

The Royal Selangor Yacht Club has an extremely active fishing section that organises regular competitions with attractive prizes. It is the ideal location to keep a power boat to be used for fishing trips. The club has a secure yard for storage and provides launch and retrieval services via a dedicated slipway and tractor. Members can also charter a boat with skipper for the day from various local operators or join a group for a specific fishing trip. And there are always experienced fishermen around to offer advice to newcomers.
