I guess it is pretty futile to post as the activity in this forum seems to be hovering around nil.
But in order to put some life into it I'll post anyway:
For tomorrow's OFB race SuperDuper has 5 vacant crew slots. So if there is any spillover crew from boats not going, ring Heinz at 0122915005 and indicate your burning desire to sail on a boat without a working engine and a GPS rozak.

The aim of this forum is to provide a useful and constructive discussion area for members to discuss their interests, post comments and exchange useful information.
Most of the forums are moderated, so when you submit a post, there will be short delay (longer if outside office hours) before your post is approved and will be visible to all. This is to stop any rude or spam messages getting into the forum.
Some forums allow you to attach files, such as details or pictures of an event, or you can embed pictures and page links within the actual post using the buttons at the top of the Write Message window.
Private Messages (PM) are useful for people to send notes between users, without actually posting onto the forum thread.
Blatant advertising or services unrelated to club activities is banned, as is 'flaming'. Any user doing so, or posting unsuitable material will immediately be removed. IP addresses of every post are recorded to enable tracing of posts if required.
Only some forums are visible to the public, and you have to log in before the remainder can be seen. So if you can only see some items it probably means you havent logged in yet.
Any reports of spam, flaming, etc should be sent to forum@rsyc.com.my
Background
Europe (UK)

She has won all the majors including Irish and UK IRC Nationals, BMW Round Ireland, Red Funnel, Irish Yacht of the Year, and was in the 2nd placed team in 2008 Commodore's Cup.
In 2008 the boat underwent a major overhaul and refit. Anthony Haines, (Ski), was commissioned to re-fair the hull and deck and re-spray her, including fitting a new rudder and keel, bow prodder for Code 0, and replacing anything that was not absolutely perfect. In total for 2008 in excess of EUR140,000 was spent on ensuring the boat was pristine in every manner for only 3 events.

Asia
Kuku arrived in Asia November 2009 from where she has won the Raja Muda Regatta 2009 & 2010, Straits Regatta 2010 & Koh Samui Regatta 2010 under the current owner. She sails (fights) well above her weight beating 40+ footers in all airs. She is in top condition and is ready to race today!

Construction materials
Hull: Foam and e-glass on a male mould
Deck: Foam and e-glass on a female mould

Spars and Rigging
Mast Formula Spars carbon 2 spreader rig - (tube weight 47kgs)

Boom
Built in-house; carbon (weight ex-fittings 12kgs)

Spi-poles
2 x Formula Spars end to end

Running rigging
All replaced pre 2008 Commodore's Cup

Deck arrangement
Kuku has a large shallow open cockpit which allows easy movement of the crew for tacking, jibing etc. All controls are very well thought out and allow easy and quick adjustment. The backstay is mounted on 2 winches. This is much lighter, faster and more precise than an equivalent hydraulic or block and tackle arrangement. The outhaul and tack for the mainsail are lead down inside the mast under the floorboards and up to a plinth at the mainsheet. This ensures that weight stays on the rail and it is not forgotten about going around the leeward mark. The jib cars and downhaul are lead inside the coachroof to keep the decks clean and clutter free. All the halyards excluding the mainsail are lead
atop the coachroof to Spinlock clutches. The main halyard is lead below to reduce clutter and help keep the CoG as low as possible. Each control has on deck numbers so accurate records can be taken.

Interior arrangement
She sleeps 8 with 2 on removable pipe-cots, has a clear-coated and pinstriped carbon floorboards, carbon sink, carbon companionway steps, carbon table, carbon toilet plinth, toilet, nav station, where a laptop can sit into the well, watertight storage below the station and beneath the sink, 2 burner custom stove which was water jet cut from aluminium and weighs 100grams, forehatch with arrangement for launching and retrieving kites, but you can also have up to 3 kites ready to launch at any one time, and 2 aft hatches from the cockpit.

Deckgear
Harken, Spinlock, Equiplite custom blocks

Electronics
B&G Hercules with performance processor, wind with carbon mast wand, boatspeed, halcyoncompass, loadcell, 2 x 20s and 1 x FFD on mast bracket, 1 x FFD below at nav station, 1 x FFD at cockpit, 1 x Garmin 128 GPS at cockpit with underdeck aerial. Shore power with battery management system to ensure batteries are always 100% charged, and allows you to run other electrical appliances such as dehumidifier etc below.

Engine
Yanmar 2GM, new 2007, which charges 2 x lightweight deep cycle batteries, setup as 1 for electronics and 1 for engine start and both for emergency if ever needed.

Cradle
Custom cradle with splashes taken off the hull when she was new, removable and lockable side box for stowing gear.

Dock box
Portable and lockable dock box used for stowing shore shoes, spare warps, etc

Sundries
Spare rudder, carbon tiller, tiller extension, boom cover, deck covers, dehumidifier, wet and dry vacuum, blocks, rope, backstays. You will not need to buy anything, you name it and we have it.

Sails
For 2007 and 2008 full custom sails designed by Chris Williams, Team Shosholoza designer. The unfinished mainsail was reduced down from 11.5 kgs to 7.5kgs, using the 800L material and custom carbon battens. For 2008 all of the working sails were finished in cuben fibre. No expense was spared whatsoever. A typical inventory for any event is as follows: mainsail, code 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 if needed, storm jib is not required as both the 4 and 5 are heavy weather jibs, trysail, A1, Code 0 hybrid or A5 depending on forecast, A2, S2, jibtop, jib-staysail and spi-staysail. This ensures every angle is catered for .
